Map sensor screw is rounded...any advice to get it out? Vise grips don't fit well with the wiring harness and the fuel rail in the way...might have to find a smaller pair.

Tried the closest fitting allen wrench (4mm) with JB Weld dobbed on the end. Looks like I got an air bubble in the way and didn't get the allen wrench all the way in. I installed it on a hot engine and let it sit overnight. JB Weld seemed cured overnight but whole thing popped out of the screw head when I tried to turn it. I think I'll spend more time cleaning and try that method again. It seems like it has the best chance of working to me. Anyone else have other ideas?

I've considered an EZ Out, but I'm afraid I'll snap the head off the screw like that!

Being a aircraft Mechanic i have to use EZ outs all the time. Get a small one. Use a small drill bit. No larger than the end of the EZ out. Drill slowly, about 1/8 inch deep. Insert the EZ out and tap on it lightly. Using a T handle or vise grips turn the EZ out. If it dose not grab the screw drill it a bit deeper.

I have taken thousands of screws out this way.

Good luck.

If all else fails sacrifice the map sensor to get more screw to get a grip on.

$65.95 at Summit Racing...had to buy one the first time I went to clean mine the top half of the sensor came off and the actual "sensor" stayed in the intake manifold...

napa has one that can be order for about $40 but didn't trust it cus it was some off brand made in India

I had that same problem on my 2202 Export CRD which is different in that it uses two smaller hex allen screws...one was totaly rounded by the dealers as i am the only owner.

I got it out by using a sharp chisel to hammer in a groove on the circumference of the bolt head.
Then use the chisel or flat screwdriver to hammer that groove sideways so as to drive the screw in the anti-clockwise direction.....used to do this often when I was fixing mainframe compute peripherals.

Otherwise use a small Easi-Out as suggested...if you drill too deep then use a magnet to pick up any metal particles.

I just got one from GM parts online for $28. Check back 3 weeks ago. There was a thread on this.

Actually you can get it for 20 bucks if you look for the same under ford part number.

That's the thread I was referring to regarding the GM part number.

So what's with Ford having the same part for less?

I can verify this. I got the GM one for $20 shipped. You don't need to order the gasket, it comes with one. Trust me.
