2005 with 110k, I changed the timing belt and all associated parts (minus fan) 2k ago. Since then it has overdose fuel econ ok my, from 25 to around 16, in addition the last week it has began to ride rough but seems to have plenty of power. I purchased and locked the engine when doing the belt. Turned it over by hand prior to starting and turned over fine with wheat felt like good compression. I don't think its a tooth out of time because it had run good at initial start up. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey DieselGuy383 I notice some thread viewings but no replies.
How are you going with this? I am hoping you have made some progress?
Can you throw any more info into the description? There isn't much to go on.
I do realise there may not be.
At present I could only suggest some fairly obvious considerations.
If that's what you want then more than happy to.
Cheers

I think you can check the timing fairly easy by putting pins in the cams and flex plate. At least you would rule out the valve timing.

Valve timing wouldn't effect your fuel economy. It would turn over about 8-10 times and break the rockers/lifters.

Some things to check:

Remove your CAC hose and check the Turbo for play in the shaft along the length of the vehicle as well as side-to-side, there shouldn't be much. While you have it off, check the CAC hose itself to ensure that it isn't split at the bottom where the clamp goes around it at the turbo, that's the most frequent problem area.

Check your intercooler hoses on both sides, by this I mean take them all the way off and remove the mesh cover from them, check for cracks and leaks anywhere on them.

Buy some non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner and clean your MAF and MAP sensors. They both could probably use some attention.

Have you upgraded to the 2nd gen fuel head? Remove the plugs on both side of the fuel head inside your engine bay and look for wetness. Pump up the little plunger on the side until it is hard to push down then turn the small release screw on the left hand side and see if solid fuel comes out, or if it sputters air while you're there.

I'd like to hear a video of the engine running. Are there any lights on, i.e. CEL, etc?

Need more Input.
