Is there a trick to taking the crank pulley off? I have the 4 10 mm bolts off. The guide I've been using says the crank nut does not have to come off. I kinda tapped on it a little and tried prying on it but I'm using the timing belt cover as the fulcrum (not sturdy).

Whack it a bit harder on the sides with like a heavy plastic mallet. There tends to be a bit of rust sticking it in place. Should pop right off

Dead blow hammer works the best. Just don't damage it by using a steel hammer.

I used a heavy rubber mallet. It's just rust/dirt that's lightly glued it on.. but it should come off without undue violence.

Don't take off the crank nut - that won't help anyway.

If you look at the face of the pulley you'll see some nubs in the casting near the outside edge (but on the face, not the edge). I used a beater screw driver against one of these and tapped it with a mallet in such a way as to turn the pulley. This broke the rust loose for me easily and it fell right off.

Another method I used on a different CRD was an air hammer on the same nubs in the casting...again in such a way as to attempt to turn the pulley.
