Thanks fellas. I will compare the sensor coming out with the new one before I install it.

I'm having some terrible bucking and idling issues and CEL, with code P0192.
Took it to the dealer to confirm and they said they got code P0190.
But the Jeep will not run rough when it is at the dealership. I was told nothing is wrong, but maybe the Fuel Rail Sensor could/should be replaced. 3 times I took it in for the diesel mechanic to see how bad it is running. But ran perfect whenever it is on the dealership property or the mechanic comes close to the vehicle.

It is as if the Jeep is afraid to misbehave while at or near the dealership because she knows someone else will be performing the surgery.

I don't go by the philosophy of just throwing parts at a vehicle. But maybe this time I will just have to replace the sensor and see how it goes. Unless someone has a better idea, and I am all ears. TIA.

You can download the service manual, which roundabout gives you the step by step instructions, from the noob guide.

It will also tell you if you need any thread sealant. I did not use any on mine when I reassembled it because it had none when I disassembled it.

I recall reading somewhere that no sealant is used on the Fuel Rail Sensor as it uses "Blade Edge" sealing ie. the sensor has a sharp edge on its surface which cuts into the metal of the fuel rail and thereby making a complete high pressure seal.

Once a Sensor has been removed then that same sensor should not be re-fitted as the cutting edge will have been blunted.

Should be in the Service Manual somewhere. :?

Can anyone pull up the latest n greatest Bosch PN for the 7v glow plug controler? If its been updated since 05, it "might" (wishfull thinking) be a better unit to run my E Tecno 1 GX3123 glow plugs. THANKS

Installed the Bosch 706 fuel rail pressure sensor and the Jeep is purring like a kitten and running like a top.

I never realized that the FRPS provided that much primary feed back for the fuel system and ECU.

I would like to pick up a spare for the future, so if anyone knows of a Bosch parts distributor, located in the U.S., that has "reasonable" prices, and carries this part, please let me know. I have searched, but have not found one yet that meets the above criteria.

TIA.

UPDATE - see my June 30, 2013 post at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=74785&p=795623#p795623 . Per MrMopar64 the "845" or GM equivalent sensor is a perfectly acceptable substitute for the original "437" sensor.

It seems to be the fuel rail pressure sensor and fuel rail pressure regulating solenoid. The rail sensor is a common part to other vehicles, at least here in the US, so you should be able to find those easily.

Regarding the 0281002705 Fuel Pressure Control Valve ............... 5159964AA Fuel Pressure Solenoid, IDPARTS.COM insists that the correct part is Bosch 0281002507. I called them twice and they said they do better homework. https://www.idparts.com/fuel-rail-pressure-solenoid-liberty-crd-0281002507-p-6240.html#product_tabs Any known differences between ...705 vs ...507?

The 0281002507 is the correct Bosch Part Number according to what I have on file: :D
Quote:
Fuel Pressure Solenoid --- Location: at end of fuel rail
Mopar PN: 5159964AA
Bosch PN: 0281002507 or *0281006019
VM Motori PN: 45962073F
GM PN: 12611872 (*used on early model Duramax diesels w/Bosch injection system)

I looked at the fuel pressure solenoid Bosch number marking currently installed on my KJ and confirmed it ends in ...705. So I am going with that. IDPARTS and SASQUATCH both sell the ...507 version both they say the ...507 is a VM OE part -- but Bosch part numbers differ VM vs Mopar. Might be the same specs but who knows. One EU-centric website does show the Bosch PN with OE PNs associated with each: https://www.eurodiesel.com/en/original/bosch?&page=7 On that website the ...507 maps to VMA45962073F whereas the ...705 maps to VMA112061 -- not the same VM OE numbers either.
