I've been fighting a problem with my wife's Liberty for the past month or so. Basically, the issue is that the dome light will refuse to go off, but only sporadically. When it chooses to stay on doesn't seem to depend on the position of the dimmer switch (which was not left in the "dome light on" position for any of these times) and all of the doors are closed. Usually it happens after she opens the trunk/lift gate, but like I said before, I've checked and both the trunk and lift gate are fully closed. The only want to get it to go off is to start and then turn off the Libby, or (sometimes) turn the dimmer switch off, then on again. Any thoughts?

Sorry if this topic has been covered before. I did a few searches and couldn't find an answer.

Thanks,

Chris

Sounds like an intermittent sticky switch that tells the system the doors are closed. I'd suspect whatever one is used for the lift gate but don't know enough about the KJ electrics to tell you what switch or where it's located. At least on an older car with the "plunger" type switch in the door frame the first thing I'd do is replace those switches.
