sounds like mine in the 06 is trashed , have not opened it yet . it will not move the jeep has anyone rebuild one , or is it best to find a low miles one , anyone have a 242J version they want to sale |

Are you sure it's the transfer case and not the transmission? Have you drained the fluid from the transfer case? |

I have a used transfer cased that worked fine. I replaced my tranny and it came with a transfer case and it was easier to remove the two together. There is nothing wrong with it. Fluid changed regularly and it worked perfectly when it was installed. PM me if you are interested. |

Then I'd be contacting Drewd about his extra case thanks , I already did looks like the seal failed and all fluid is now in the transmision , it did not leak out on the ground my transmision guy saids the transmision is fine |
