As far as I can tell from the limited research I've done tonight, the 700 is general TCM fault, and the 725 means I need to replace the fluid and filter (which I plan to do this weekend). I've also seen that I should check my in/output speed sensor as that can be what the p725 is for. Anyone care to further enlighten me?

TIA!

P0700 just says there is a stored transmission code. For the P0725 go to Sam's NOOB guide and get the 06 FSM as it lists the codes and diagnostic procedures.

Thanks for the help papaindigo.

The 06 FSM says that the p725 is engine speed sensor circuit. According to the trouble shooting guide the jeep should be in limp mode, and it is not. I'm going to disconnect the TCM and reset the codes and see if it comes back. I'm not really sure what would have caused this.

Well, just as quickly as the code appeared, it disappeared. I drove around town yesterday (about 15mi total, streets and highway) and the CEL was on and the code reader still showed 700 and 725. Then when I went to and from the gym last night (about .5mi) the CEL went off, and so did the codes. I went out and started the Jeep this morning, and no CEL or codes appeared.

I'll be keeping an eye out for any further trans codes, but as far as I can tell it threw a code for no reason and it never acted up.
