Are there any available aftermarket air intakes or ss exhaust systems for the CRD? I was thinking something like a short ram for intake. I especially want a ss exhaust due to Michigans really salty winters. I had this set up on my old Explorer Sporttrac and it helped with Milage, and HP. The engine was able to breath easier. I don't know how diesles are, but I figured it might help out.

On that note, anyone know of any chips for the CRD? I heard of a Chevy 3500 Diesel that has a chip and he claims that he gets better gas milage, HP, and torque. I heard that chips are very different on diesels than on regular gas engines.

On the old board there was a post of a member who put on exhuast and someone who chipped. I think that the exhaust he said was too loud and the chip didn't really do much. That is what I remember from the post. The chip was one used in europe or australia where they have had the crd's for a while.

TST Products and BullyDog are both working on computer tuners for the CRD right now. I too would love to know where I can find intake/exhaust upgrades for the CRD. If anybody finds out let me know.

The exhaust was full custom.
2 different posts; both had good luck. One guy took the muffler out completely, that was not good. Then changed to an all stainless one. It helped. The other used a different muffler and was very happy. The big difference was the muffler, but they both increased to a 3" tailpipe. Unfortunately I can not remember the muffler brands they used. Anyone else remember?

We have an appointment with AEM next week to let them use our new Limited to prototype a Brute Force intake system for the CRDs. I've also recieved interest from Gail Banks Engineering on this subject but have yet to recieve a concrete offer for R&D use. Mark, the owner of TST said his test CRD was getting 27MPG and with his prototype fueling box it made 200 lb-ft more torque than stock!!! I bet it smoked like a freight train too. Give this a little time, the Diesel aftermarket is red hot right now. Good products are coming down the pipeline soon.

I am hoping the power boxes turn off the EGR system, as this seams to be the most commond problem with the CRD.

Bet its not that simple. These closed loop systems are hard to fool theses days.
