Autoweek is reporting that Jeep has sold 10,313 CRD's in its first year (calender year not model year) roughly double the 5,000 original estimate.

"10,313 diesel Liberty's sold in its first full year in production." Interesting. Little to no advertising, negative press on every front, and somehow, they sold twice their target number.

Didn't any of these CRD buyers consult with industry pundits? They would have steered them clear of diesel danger and right into a hybrid if they had only asked before buying! :-)

Where is this pundit ? .. I guess I better ask around next time ... hear I am stuck with this vehicle which serves all my needs and then some ( plus I can 5% feel good about supporting US interests with the commercial BIO I can get @ the moment )

Ranger1, I like your tongue in cheek wit. Thank God for the internet so that people can get informed and not fed the S%$## from the main stream media.

Anyone who has been around the car scene for a few decades knows that the media pundits don't like any cars that are american. I have been watching that for to long. Now people check the blogs or the forums and get feedback from owners and make informed decisions

I enjoy watching automotive experts predict what they want to happen, especially when its not happening. Laughter is good for the soul.

Yeah, I got a new version of the "don't buy gas on one certain day to send the oil companies a message" spam e-mail at work the other day. This new version wants everyone to boycott ExxonMobil for one year.

I wrote a simple reply back to the person who sent it to me -

"Tell them to buy a diesel and make their own d### fuel!"
