I am experiencing loss of power and smoke at takeoff acceleration. At about 30 mph the turbo kicks in and runs normal from there on. I recently had the timing belt changed out and it seemed to start this problem about then. If the mech. missed the cam alignment would that cause this problem ? any comments would be appreciated.

Do you have any lights on in the dash board, if so which codes are showing (CEL)?

Another likely source would be splits/tears in your CAC hoses or a loose connection on same that bleed boost.
