Post subject:  Predator fuel mileage update

I just came back from a 180 mile highway trip in my CRD with my Predator module turned on and got 23.6 mpg. Did the same trip last week with the Predator turned off and got 21.8 mpg. 1.8 gain. My odometer is 5.2% due to the 245/75-16 Revos so it should be 24.8 and 22.9 , 1.9 gain. Not bad considering I'm lifted 3" also still -10 deg winter blend fuel here. I'm happy.

How would you describe the power gain? VERY noticeable? Worth the money?

Was that by EVIC or hand calculated?

Like I said in another post when the turbo spools up it's like your in a slingshot.
Also the added torque really is nice when I'm pulling my trailor. I usually leave it turned off when I'm not pulling a lot of weight otherwise it gets too fun and I'm allways on the throttle. I paid $460.00 including shipping. I've paid that much for headers for my 401 AMX that will rot out and give me about 30 hp. I think it was worth it.

Not one of the lucky ones to have an EVIC so it's hand calculated. I fill up at the same pump at the same station every time and fill till the pump stops on it's own and my refill are between 1/2 and 3/4 everytime so this should be pretty acurate. I've recorded all my fuel ups since new and so far the one with the Predator is the best I'v seen.

Thank you! Since the subject of the Predator modules came up several months ago, every report on mileage gains till now has been based on EVIC readings. I've spoken to several distributors for the Predator and other modules who said that these modules could throw off the EVIC readings to the high side, since they're playing with the signals it uses to compute fuel mileage. Myself and several others have asked those using Predators to hand calulate their MPG and verify the EVIC reading, before biting the bullet and buying one ourselves. Up till now, had never gotten any response that I know of.

As far as I know, you're the first Predator user that has given a straight answer and said "yes, I hand calculated my mileage, and yes, it did go up by X amount".

I'm not trying to slam the other Predator users out there, my apologies if this post sounds that way. But for those of us more concerned about MPG than performance, it's been a little frustrating trying to get some sort of verifiable info on these, other than what the distributors claim.

The only bad thing about the Predator is keeping yourself from romping on it at every stoplight. That kind of messes up your fuel mileage. That's why I installed the switch to turn it of when I'm just driving around town.

Hershey, PA to Kennett Square, PA (66 miles roughly), next morning Kennett Square, PA to Southern MD (155 miles) and back north. Refueled just north of Perryville, MD. 300 miles on the odometer and still had about 9 gallons left (refueled with 11.4 gallons)

26.27....MPG.
1500 miles on the truck

I can't wait to get exhaust and tuner and a better breathing air filter.

I just bought one of these on e-bay for $400. Put $400 on best offer and they took it. Maybe someone can get it for less?? Will provide a review once I have it installed. Also ordered a magnaflow muffler #12226. Had to search for it though. It seems some are stainless steel and others are aluminized steel. Summit is all out, backordered to 5/5. Paid $67 w/ shipping for the stainless one.

Did the same trip again today with the Predator. The only differance was I took the winch off the front on this trip. Got 24.3 mpg and 25.5 with odometer correction 5.2%.
I'm liking that!!
