Thanks to papaindigo, Sir Sam, and many others on this site, I have diagnosed my loss of power due to a ruptured boost hose. Since this car is my daily driver, I need replacements with a quickness. How long does boostcontroller.com take to deliver. Should I just bite the bullet and pay the dealer? This is my daily driver, and I really need it back in service. |

don't forget the other places that sell hoses.. google for hydraulic hoses and such in your area. I know there is a place in Raleigh Nc that sells silcon hose 2-4 in size..they stock it..sold by the ft. so there should be other places might not perfect..but a couple of feet of hose and rigid elbows..done..well and hose clamps -dkenny |

Don't forget you can repair them with self amalgamating silicon tape until replacements arrive. |

Try the tape route. If you don't have to drive far or much you can limp along for a few days without boost but your mpg will be poor; best be gentle on the go pedal. If you are in a real hurry for hoses idParts may be open (http://idparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=29_166) and has Samcos in stock for $20 more than Boost Controller. |

Duct tape works well. When mine went I cleaned it and taped the outside. I ran that way for three months with no problems. It was still holding fine when I put the samcos on. |

I will not need hoses for a couple of weeks yet. So i have time to order. I would like to find out if the mandrel bent aluminum tubing can be ordered. Do you have any shops that do mandrel bending? |

Gonna give the self sealing silicon tape a shot. I bought some at Home Depot. Cleaned the hose really well and taped it up. I hope it holds. No offense to you sea level flatlanders, but I now live in Golden, CO in the front range of the rockies. Driving without boost is not an option, although I do see how it could be possible on flat land. On steep grades, I can only do about 20 MPH at WOT. For me the mandrel bent tubing is probably more trouble than it's worth. My current hoses lasted for 96,000 miles, so I should get at least that from the Samcos. Especially after the EHM which I will do tomorrow. Next on the list is the timing belt/water pump. |

If the tape doesn't hold, get a PVC coupler or elbow with the right diameter to fit inside the hose at the location of the split. Cut the hose straight across at the split and insert the PVC piece. Hold with two new hose clamps. I drove like that for over a week until my samcos arrived. |

Could have called us at IDParts - we have the Samcos in stock and ship same-day. Look at the CRD Tech section for the SAMCO install how-to. Its a 5 min affair so its not much of a how-to. |
