Just wondering how many of us are running them, and for how long we have been running them. I am still running the original(preproduction) set without problems.

How about we follow this form(in addition to the headcount):

Time: 15 months
Miles: ~25k

Installed back in Nov 08, 8K miles since then, used original CAC hose clamps, no problems.

Install Samco hoses and the correct clamps back in November 08. Have to be strong for towing though the mountain passes.

Maybe you should add a choice for OEM hoses. I had mine replaced by the Dealer @ 20k because of oil sweating. 50k miles on the updated one and no problems.

I'm more interested in knowing the total number of samco hoses out on the road right now.

I'm surprised there are as many people as there are running ralph nader, I figured he would have been unsafe at any speed.

Been running the Samco hoses for thirteen months now. No problems, maybe 8k or 10k miles.

I have been using the Samco hoses for 8 months and 10,000 miles. They work well, and seem to boost fuel mileage (a result I did not expect). I used Marman clamps in place of original clamps, they give a better clamping action, and the driver's side clamps are spring loaded to maintain constant clamping force. The original Norma clamps had a semi spring design, and the thickness of the original clamps, combined with the larger diameter of the Samco hoses, made it impossible to reinstall the original clamp on the drivers side hose where it connects to the engine.

When Ranger1 and I got together a couple weeks ago, he showed me the installed clamps he ordered with the Samco hoses. They're the same type we used on the CAC hoses on Class 8 trucks at my previous employer - properly installed, those clamps should be good for the life of the vehicle and never give any problems.

Installed them at the beginning of March 09. No problems. Seems to have decreased smoke and increased throttle response compared to deteriorated stock hoses under full throttle.

Please help me to understand. What's the hoopla with Samco hoses?
06 CRD 29,500 miles: substitute Provent; SEGR in works.
There have been numerous EGR's replaced under warranty -- 5. Chrysler just cleaned out the entire air stream from the turbo to the manifold. It was coated with gunk and oil. I examined the original hoses. They are in fine shape, no cracks, no wear, no softness from the oil deposits, actually they look new. So, what's happening that some folks are changing them? I know the blue color is cool, but what problems do they solve and what is the economic value?

Some like to spend obscene amounts of money on their Jeeps simply for the sake of modifying them.Image

My originals didn't die until 40,000 miles - they didn't look bad until they blew.
(Provent was in after ~15K)

Mine blew out after swelling and sweating oil -- a total mess. I'd rather replace them with units that stay clean and have a chance at lasting 100k miles. BTW, mine are black and look more OEM than OEM.

My stock CAC hoses made it to 103,000 miles, but the Driver side blew and I purchased the Samco's in Blue I have only replaced the Drivers side about 500 miles ago, but plan on doing the other one this weekend. I haven't noticed a mileage increase.
