My '06 CRD is not a daily driver so I'm taking my time on adressing some maintenance items. I replaced my tensioner and pulley as well as the two idler pulleys. I have my Hayden 2905 fan clutch and 11 blade nylon fan ready to go in too.

Again, I'm in no hurry to get this back on the road and with the front of the engine being open I decided I need to replace my original radiator hoses which have somewhere in the neighborhood of 150,000 miles on them. No leaks and no apparent rot, but...... while I am in there I am giong to replace them and the original thermostat.

I know a hose should be a hose is a hose but in my experience I have found some model-specific repalcement hoses border more on the universal fit than an exact one.

I see RockAuto seems to have an assortment of hose brands:

Lower Hose : Gates ($33.79), ACDELCO ($47.99) and OMIX ADA ($59.79)
[b]Upper Hose : Goodyear ($8.71), Gates ($9.76), ACDELCO ($13.50), OMIX ADA ($18.25)

For you guys have replaced your collant hoses do you have any particular preference of the above or any other brand, i.e. NAPA, Autozone, etc.,?

Thanks!

I used Gates on mine and replaced with the same idea that they have had good 7 years on them and liable to fail anytime soon.
Happy with the new ones and they were easier to get on than the OEM ones from Idparts as lower hose was a witch and didn't fit ( I had to eat the cost on it as I was not able to get a refund on that).

I got a gates upper hose from rock auto that didn't fit. Got it refunded and tried another that didn't fit. Had to go OEM.

I will observe that radiator hoses last orders of magnitude longer than they used to back in the day so to speak. Gates makes good stuff and I show the Gates #s as lower Gates 23071 and upper 22022. I won't promise those #s are correct but they did come directly from the Gates catalog. If anyone finds those #s don't work please PM or email me, ideally with the correct Gates #, so I can update my "memory" bank.

Thanks for your input guys. I've always known Gates to make good stuff.

Papaindigo, many thanks. Nice to know that there is a CRD EMT in the neighborhood of sorts. I am 2 1/2 hours to the east of you.
