It Pains me to sell the CRD I loved this vehicle wife got up to 34 MPG in it at one point, but she unlike me doesn't kick the turbo in much. But due to job loss and financial situation we are selling it cant afford to fix it right now.... It is clean Colorado 2006 jeep liberty Limited has everything, except sunroof, including lifetime satellite radio. Has ~165k miles. Well maintained only ran mobile 0w40 and changed oil religiously its whole life. Was wife's daily commuter 50 miles every day at least and our trip car. Has ORM and elephant hose. Replaced the timing belt, water pump and injectors at ~150k. Unfortunately the water pump went out on me ( while away from home working in Texas)it has been replaced (I have the timing pin kit for it) But I think it is one notch off on the timing smokes and throws a couple of codes. Where to start on value books around $9500 make offer....corghnck@gmail.com OK SO I AM TOLD IT PROBABLY HAS WORN OUT ROCKERS NOT SURE WHAT REPLACEMENT WOULD COST AT THIS TIME... |

If it were one notch off on the timing, it would be sitting in your driveway with broken rockers, or worse. This is not something you can be off on. It probably has worn out rockers. |

Timing could be one tooth off and still be OK, it would run like you describe. HOWEVER - that is on a fresh belt. As the belt ages and slightly changes, the timing will pull out just a little bit further, and that is where the rocker failure will happen. Rocker sets are about $400 from idparts.com, replacement is 8 hours labor according to the book. A fresh belt (I personally wouldn't put a used belt back in and re-tension it) will be $80 or so from Amazon. |

Ok remembering some more things about the jeep liberty: First off it ran great before the water pump from ID parts went out......I purchased the timing belt kit in April 2012. They did replace the water pump for free. I also put a new turbo and inlet hose on at the same time the hose had split. IT has GDE tune on it also. The belt was replaced at the same time the water pump was..... |

The diesel people pretty much stay to ourselves, we don't use the for sale section much. The reason for that is all the potential buyers are here too, so if you have CRD specific stuff to sell... Right here is just fine. You are OK, don't worry about it. We hardly ever bother the mods. |
