| Hello all ! I know I dont have alot of posts, but I have read the newbie guide and have had and worked on my jeep for over a year and a half. I have an adequate knowledge of diesels . I usually read , study and fix my problem . But now I am in some desperate need . I am dealing with something a little weird . Let me give you the all around about the jeep first . I have done the EHM, unplugged the MAF , cleaned the MAP , racor fuel filter upgrade , kennedy lift pump (that died need new stator) but has been removed has a new hose in place, timing belt replacement at 98000 , waterpump , pulleys, tensioner , new serpentine , new alternator, new rack and pinion. She is sitting at 104,000 miles now . Now about the issue I am having , It started a little while ago maybe like a hundred miles ago , I would get a little hiccup right when I started it <it would start fine> then just a small hiccup just a like a fast drop in rpm , not really noticable unless you you are freak about jeep like i am LOL. Then it seem to progress everytime I started , Like a couple more hiccups very inconsistent. After a a day or two the hiccups got worse , they don't seem to have a pattern either . So I figured a air in fuel issue , so the only thing that I knew where I could possible leaking air is the tank on the quick disconnects. So that was taking care of but the hiccups are there I even bled that racor 4 times . The rpm drops arnt dropping enough to make it die but they are now noticeable and now is a problem that needs to be treated. My guess theory now is possible low compression in a cylinder, possible broken glow plug since I havent gotten there yet .. possible injector problem . This weekend I am going to get the codes to see if there is anything that might give me clues ... grr I doesnt sounds like rockers or a timing belt slip , but possible a sticking valve? But If any of you have heard this , please let me know . | |

| With the Racor fuel filter upgrade am I correctly reading that you installed the Racor 245 filter head and filter. If so, did you by any chance install a fuel pressure gauge. Again, if I am reading this right, what micron Racor element did you use? With respect, I suggest sticking with the KISS principal before the quantum leap into those more catastrophic and less likely events. This seems to have kind of crept up on you albeit in the space of 100 miles. | |

| The Hicupps your talking about, Is is like a little engine stumble? If yes? be sure to have the Heat/ Air in the off position. When the clutch on the AC pump kicks in there may be a little Stumble. If it still dose it with everything off? Change your MAP sensor. I and a few others have been running Bosch 0 281 002 845 MAP. You can get them for under $20. from any GM dealer. It will make a difference. Better shifting and more power. Good luck, KJJET | |
