Odd I can find a couple of mentions of it in the FSM including torque values but no location either there or in the parts fiche. Typical locations seem to be on the outside of the power steering pump, on a fitting on the pressurized (e.g. flow coming off the pump rather than returning to the pump) ps hose, or the steering assembly. Not much help I know but best I can do; last ps assembly I messed with was a 1965 Mustang so I'm way out of date. |

The power steering pressure switch is only for '02-'04 KJ's,they deleted it for '05+ KJ's.There is a TSB for the older KJ's that you can delete the switch by jumpering the switch wires together since now it's getting harder to get a PS pressure hose these days with the pressure switch port. |

The reason I'm asking this is because my power steering is not working and there is fluid in the reservoir and when running you can see the fluid moving ... Does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks |

Assuming fluid level is correct (which also means lines are not leaking badly), fluid used is correct, and the fluid is not "foamed" then either the pump or the gear is bad. There is a testing procedure in the FSM (see Sam's NOOB guide like) but it requires a gauge. I suspect if you call around you can find an independent shop that can run the test although it's not like a dealer could screw this test up on a CRD as opposed to a gasser. Now swapping the bad part might be another matter. |
