| Post subject: | CRD Upgrade Help |
Hi , i have a 2006 Crd, and i want some more Hp out of my diesel engine, Besides the Edge unit, is there any other programmers/chips available for the 06 CRD ? Also what else is available for these engines ? I am gonna go with an exhaust, but what else can i get ? I dont mind some fabrication work being involved as well. Post any experinces both good and bad of things youve done to make those CRD engines go a little faster . Thanks Stephen |

Say it isn't so!! You're kidding right? CRDs are supposed to have sliders, skids, lockers, 2 1/2 inches of lift so you don't total your front end, winches, custom "HOORAH" real steel bumpers, and some real tires and wheels that don't hit the sheetmetal at full flex. They are supposed to be pulling trailers and loaded to the gills with gear and toys. It's supposed to have kids, dogs and mom fighting to ride shotgun. It's supposed to have a woman at the wheel with a smirk, because they just cleaned the section you had to except a strap or cable to finish. Most of all they should have some dust, mud, and nature's pinstriping on them. Other than that you're on the right track. All the best to ya partner. |

To each his own, and don't listen to anyone about what you're supposed to do with your ride, unless they are willing to pickup the payments..... As for performance upgrades, I would recommend the Digi CR chip from Dieseltuning.com. It lays down a very respectible amount of power, and makes it possible to smoke a 31" time (large tread or otherwize) without alot of thought. As for exhaust, there aren't alot of full kits out that I've seen, but the 2.5" Aeroturbine seems to work rather well for me. It's got a great low-key exhaust note that, to the trained ear, sounds like power. Unfortunately nobody seems to have an intake kit yet. That's a shame, I have the feeling that it would make it much easier to hear the turbo spool up. Give it time. I have a feeling that deisel power vehicles and tuning will be getting more and more popular as fuel prices rise. |
