I am going to be replacing the cv axles next weekend. Couple of questions:
-I understand the axle seal is a pain in the rear, but what makes it so painful to replace? Any tips if I do have to replace it? Not planning on replacing it, I just want to make sure I can handle it if they are bad.
- anyone happen to know the part #s for the axle seal?
- is there a place where the torque settings are listed?

Thanks for the help.

Anyone?

Just finished this project among a whole other laundry list of items on the front end of my own CRD tonight. The driver's side seal is easy to get at, the passenger it a bit more of a pain because it is recessed several inches inside of the center section. To get at it I had to cut one of the two hooks off of a standard seal removal tool.

Cheapest I found the seals was on Amazon Prime $15 shipped.

Mopar 5066066AA
Crown CRO5066066AA
Omix 16534.12

You can find the service manual with all of the torques here:

Follow up question, do I need to grease either end? Doesn't appear to be any on the ends when I took the cv axles out of the box.
