In the suburban driving, where speeds rarely exceed 45, I like to kick on the O/D lockout. The gear shift point changes just seem to work really nice in making sure you don't "lug", heating the converter. Also, lockup occurs much earlier, which feels nicer to drive.

What seems wrong, is that if you have to slow, to say 1-5-20 mph, when you speed back up again, it's in 4th and just sort of "lugs" back up to speed. If you kick the O/D lockout, it'll drop a gear or two when that happens and you barely have to throttle it to get back up to speed.

Does anyone's trans mods do this?

Here are my observed shift points:
with OD-off:
2nd @ 10 mph
3rd @ 20 mph
3rd+lock @ 37 mph

with OD-on
2nd @ 10
3rd @ 20
4th @ 35
4th+lock @ 51
5th+lock @ 61 mph

I too have noticed that when slowed to 15-20mph and then accellerating again, the trans will not
always downshift to 2nd.
When that happens, I just manually shift it down to 2nd, then back up to D.
