I just finished changing my timing belt, water pump, idlers, tensioner and serpintine belt. I used the ID parts crd kit and was very pleased.
I used Sams method ( for the most part) and things went smoothly. I used drill bits for locking the cams and crank. I made my own tools for holding the cam pulleys and setting the tensioner.
My injector pump was not in "time" but I put it back the way it was.
I found it easier to leave the cam pulleys loose when installing the belt, turning them to move all the slack to the tensioner side putting the belt on the tensioner and installing that.
All in all was not too bad a job. Thank god for friends with woodstoves in the garage. I can now relax not having to worry about that old belt.

If you do it by the BOOK / MFG, the cam pulleys are left loose until the tensioner is tightened. SO YES you did it correctly!! Nice job. Don't always believe everything someone else dose. It's always best to find the correct way.
