Hey guys. Coolant gauge currently showing 1 hatch mark below half on the coolant gauge. Does this indicate that my thermostat has failed? I checked with the scan gauge to confirm coolant temperature was 161°F. That seems a bit cold to me. Would an inline
Thermostat be beneficial at this point in time?

Yes. Its like $12 on amazon for the stant inline and it will push it up to the 190-195° range. Its a bit of a band-aid mod but it looks like we may have a new option coming up here soon so it will hold you over until you want to do something more substantial.
