Newbie here, I've done a search and didn't fine anything on this. http://colorado4wheel.com/images/misc/noobguide.jpg Any body had any problem with fuel leaking from the high pressure line that connects to the pump and goes up to the commonrail? Mine is (I think) leaking there, I've tried to tighten it and made it leak more, than I took the line off and put it back on, it's still leaking but not as bad. It doesn't leak right away, just after driving a while. I'm thinking of getting a new line from the dealer. Any other ideas are welcome! Thanks, Steve |

I've had this happen on a Cummins. It ended up being a cracked line. It wouldn't leak until the rail pressure is higher, so that may be why yours doesn't leak right away. On the Cummins I could pull the connector off of the flow control valve to max out the pressure at idle and see where it's leaking (from a safe distance |

Be careful of the high pressure side of the fuel system...best is to hold a piece of paper up to where you think the leak is...keep your hands away from that area! Are there not crush washers on the pipe ends? I know the pressure sensor on the end of the fuel rail does not use washers but is a "knife edge"....as you tighten the sensor a sharp edge cuts its way into the fuel rail...once you have removed the fuel rail sensor you are not supposed to put it back but need to buy a new one. |

I would go with a replacement. Over tighting may cause a crack or fitting damage. That's not a place to mess with, Lots of pressure. |
