What's the Mopar PN for the hose you are looking for?

For whatever it's worth sometimes a hydraulic shop can build or repair hoses. You might check with someplace that services farm equipment for such shops in your area. Just a thought.

Most hydraulic service shops can make up a hose for you fairly cheaply. We had one go recently down here in Sydney and yes the OEM part was very expensive but the owner had a hose made up for him by a local (Pirtek service guy) for about $100. He was directed to this guy by a mechanic in a Jeep dealership who regularly sends people to him.

Ya a shop could make a patch but it would be 2/3 of the price and I would be a car down for a few days since I would have to remove it give it to them leave the jeep apart then out it back in. If it was summer I could do it but it's winter so can't.

So just need the part to replace the f'ed one. Right now I cut the line and ran hi pressure fuel line, it's holding but if I put it the locks it blows a hole in it, did it twice before I got out of the parking lot.

My local hydraulic shop (Colliflower, a Parker store) makes high pressure lines while you wait - exact copies of whatever you bring in. For much less than an OEM part.

Same as above for having a hose made. The hose shop in my town will make one according to measurements and desired fittings, or they will duplicate anything you bring in.

BUT, if you ask for a Jeep specific (or for any specific application) hose, they will make the same hose and charge about three times as much.

Thanks guys but yet again unless your going to drive me to work pick me up and drive me to a place that's 30 mins away as I live in the country all this is not helpful.

Just make some measurements, or stop to a shop to do it. I wouldn't pay those dealers for anything... If I am not misunderstanding you... can you just put some pipe where it rubbed, and clamp it with double clamps each side? That should hold at least for few days till you get your new hose made...

If alternate transportation is the problem then rent a car for the day. It's gonna cost you 20 bucks or so.

Other than that you've got 3 options:
- get it custom made from your measurements
- buy from a US dealer and have it shipped
- buy from your local dealer

I have never done this but Eaton, Parker and Weatherhead all make reusable hydraulic hose fittings.
Typically for medium pressure applications so it may work for power steering hoses.

Buy the hose and appropriate screw in fittings and cut to length at home.

You will have to research to see if this is safe for power steering but it would save you a lot of money to build your own hoses.

If you try this route, let me know what hose you used and fitting part numbers.

Our high pressure power steering assembly seems to be one piece though. I wonder if male fittings could be added to the pipe sections.

I may be wrong, but if I recall correctly when reading about the Eaton version of these, you have to use the hose they suggest and they also have quite a large acceptable leak rate. It sounded like they were designed for farm equipment and such. Not sure I would want them on my vehicle.

I was in a similar situation and bought the set for 05 Libby even though mine was 06 for 240 shipped and paid another 200 bucks to local guy to install.
This is the part number for complete kit I used 52129342 and I got it from wrmopar.com really good service comes complete with all the o rings etc. hope this helps.

I had a mild power steering fluid leak in the same area you are describing, I used Lucas oil power steering stop leak to seal it 4 months ago http://lucasoil.com/products/problem-so ... -stop-leak and the leak is gone.

Have a power steering high pressure leak at the pump.

Did search the threads but no answer could be found for this there is also a possibility that I missed it
It is leaking at the o ring I tried to replace the o ring it is still leaking.
The dealer in Canada I spoke to says I can get for 405 dollars for the hose
Is there anything else I can try before spending tons of time. Replacing a hose.

I did see adapters made to fit the power steering pump this is what I am looking at. I put the link as a example of what I am looking at there are a few companies that make them.

Want to use the adapters and then go to a hose maker and get the hose made.

On a simple note why did they make the hose so complicated and complicated to remove and replace

It does seem like something that could be pieced together with more standard parts.
If hydraulic hose is appropriate\legal to use, Princess Auto sells 1/4 and 3/8 inch 2-wire hose by the foot.
They will cut it and crimp it for free!

If you get any answers, post them please. I am interested to know.

Is there a typical place that these usually break/rub?

I haven't had the chance to trace an apparent leak on my 2006.

Fluid flow in the reservoir is very good, it makes a little whirlpool when it is running.

I cleaned it all off and sprayed it down with cleaner and water and ran it for over 30 minutes after cleaning and no huge leaks were apparent - but then a little later I noticed some new drips.

Verify that what you are seeing, isn't transmission fluid leaking from one, or both of the transmission cooler lines at the hose crimps, right near the fan shroud.
I had to replace the transmission hose sections on both of my CRDs.

EDIT: I will double check that I don't have transmission coolant hose leaks.

I think you may be right - after swapping out the PS fluid and refilling - no loss of fluid is evident in the reservoir.

Looking at the hoses again down by the cross-member where the PS line brackets are bolted, it looks like the transmission cooler lines are what is leaking - possibly at the crimp to the rubber line.
