I recently had a bad valve stem and put a regular one in to save money and now my warning light stays on. I need to know if there is a way shut it off

Yea, there is, put back the tpms sensor, lol. I was searching the forums for a while, the only mod to disable the tpms light is to program the computer similar to how European kj are, I think you need a drb3 and the dealer won't do it since this tpms bs is "mandated". As usually, the government knows what is better for us and makes all the right decisions... I am still researching if I can put the tpms sensors in a plastic pressurized pipe and trick the computer to think this are the tires. Don't try a metal pipe, it shields the signal, tried it and didn't work. Anyways, the whole "research" doesn't worth the time, you'd better be off by getting a tpms sensor back in the tire.

If somebody knows a way to turn the light off w/o tampering the wiring in the car, or the led light indicator, id be interested to find out.

Meantime, you can just re-position the steering wheel so you won't see that darn light all the time. Also, on our kjs you don't hear chimes every so many minutes, so it would probably worth to just get used to it being on...

Dangit. I was hopin for an easy solution. Lol

I guess I'm gonna get use to the light. Your right about the dinging every so often. That quit all together with the light staying in full time.

Thanks for your help

Stick some black insulation tape over your warning light....you will not pass any inspections though and it is nice to have a warning that a tire is deflating on you!

Don't have this system on my Jeep. :(

Dorman 974-001 $21.64 with Amazon free shipping if a Prime member or order something else to get over $35 or about $28 if you do not qualify for free Amazon shipping plus $10 to local auto shop to pop tire and install sensor. Drive ca. 10 minutes at 15mph+ to "train" maybe less. Worked just fine for my son. Poof dash light goes out.

FYI "export" KJs may use a TPMS sensor that sends a signal on a different radio frequency so the 974-001 will not work but IIRC Dorman has another sensor that sends on that frequency.

European KJ (or European cars better said) does not have tpms mandated, and the disable of the light is a "clean" one, it tells the computer to not turn the light on.

Billwill, Having a light for low pressure is indeed a nice feature, but what sucks is that if you want to disable it, you cant. If you want to deflate the tires for off road for example, you can't have the light off. Not a big deal but some find it annoying. There may be some options for us in us, which is to have the tpms light programmed to turn on on lower pressure, but that's about it...
