I now have no working transmitter on my key. It got wet and after that it simply would not stop setting off the panic button. Had to remove the battery, and now the battery and clip is lost. Battery, no problem... clip, big problem. I only had one, and the shell was cracking anyway... so, what's the lowest cost way to get a couple of remotes programmed? |

Buy 2 on ebay and get a locksmith to program them for you if you do not have two working keys. . It will be a lot cheaper than the dealer. I paid $50 to get one programmed a couple years ago. If you have 2 other programmed keys(does not have to be remote, but they must start the car), then you could program them yourself, by following steps in the owners manual. |

I have two keys that start it. But I want the remotes, not just keys that start it. |

Like he said, if you have two working keys, you can program the remotes from eBay. Buy a compatible one like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CHRYSLER-JEEP-KEYLESS-ENTRY-KEY-REMOTE-COMBO-CLICKER-TRANSMITTER-4-BUTTON-/400350843456 or even this funky one which I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIQUE-CHRYSLER-JEEP-FLIP-KEY-COMBO-KEYLESS-ENTRY-KEY-REMOTE-CLICKER-UNCUT-/360511059603, and it should work fine. I have two keys that start it. But I want the remotes, not just keys that start it. If your keys start it then your chip is functioning. The vehicle will not stay running if the OEM key with correct chip is far from the steering column. I discovered that when the keys get wet, the flexible key pad is what needs to be replaced. This happened to me after I ran the key in the washing machine..... I left it in the pocket of my jeans and I found a used replacement pad on eBay. |

Doc if you're looking for just the rubber pad, this one works: http://bit.ly/ZSAsWB. Edit: I did have to make a small modification to remove one of the unused rubber nubs on the backside of a button. If you get it and have issues that's what is going on. |

Did you try opening it up and cleaning it with denatured alcohol or distilled water? Its possible that there is some buildup on the circuit board that's shorting it out. You might be able to recover it. I jumped into a pool with my cell phone and was able to restore it by dropping it into some clean water to wash out any dried chlorine or other minerals that were shorting it out. |

Doc, I bought a used unit on eBay and just used the electronic key pad from it. |
