Are there blatant obvious differences in appearances between the 2? Is the Gen2 still the recommended fix?

I have an '05 that has given me zero problems (bought at 105K now 120K) in the 1.5yrs we've had it. My folks copy catted us and bought an '06 with 60K on it and they now have priming issues. I scored a Gen2 fuel head with some other items figuring I'd need one at some point. I guess I'll be putting it on the folks' '06 though now. I'll swap the Gen2 onto theirs, but don't know if its another issue.

Also I've replaced the TB on ours immediately after we bought it. I'm trying to convince them they need to buy the parts for theirs based on age and it's now got 90K on it.

Yep, 2n gen has a blue plug for the heater element on the driver's side while 1s gen is black. See the tag end of Sam's how to bleed the head video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPwGcWi3gE0 for pics and PNs

FYI the new wires do not match the color of the original wiring; just match by size when you install the new wires
