just did a timing job and replaced all 4 glow plugs on Galfriends 06 .
I have been running it in ORM and she has had some cold starting issues so I scanned it and came up with these codes, I checked to see if the harness was somehow not connected and darn my luck it seems to be ok .

**I switched glow plug relays with my 05 and it codes as well immediatley after a start. I also have done the exact same repairs on my 05 without codes using the same glow plugs ordered all at the same time from the same people

The glow plugs are the etechno 7 v and I verified the stamping on the ceramics that were removed were the 7V as well .

This is a real pisser as I have just dumped my heart and soul into this job only to prodice a jeep thats hard to start throws codes like a champ and no apparent idea why .

any ideas would be appreciated Thanks ! Scotty

Can you measure the resistance of each plug to ground? You can do it at the harness plug near the FCV. Should have .6 to 1 ohm on each. Maybe the harness plug is just loose?

Are you sure the connector on each one is plugged in tight? You really have to push it until it snaps! onto each plug head.

The wiring harness itself, and not the glow plugs, may be the issue. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen it. Check the simple stuff first, resistance, as already mentioned with a simple voltmeter from harbor freight or the like for like $8.

Visually inspect what you can of the harness, but if you're getting all 4 I would suspect something in the wiring prior to the plugs themselves.

All 4 glow plugs have died. After numerous tests pulled one and directly tested it to power it's dead. I am going to use the controller from my 05 in case it's the issue and put at least 3 ceramics (the ones I can get to) back in until we re flash with a green tune and probably try the 5v ones .
my fear is something else made them go bad egr or something but not sure on how to test for other stuff. The ceramic gp removed all worked I got these off ebay so maybe that's what's up.

sadly my 05 has 4 of these installed as well

EGR doesn't have anything to do with it. It is possibly a bad controller, or someone fried the glow plugs they sold you on EBAY and that's why they were selling them. I would contest the sale through EBAY and get your money back.

You'll notice that a bunch of us here mention and shop at ID Parts, I would recommend them as we have board members who work there and will actively try to help you if you run into an issue like this with any of the products they sell.

I'm sorry you have 4 bad plugs, I would probably bet on the safe side and next time replace the controller, harness, and the ASD relay.

I was told by the seller the 8 plugs I purchased were etecno 7v there is no writing whatsoever on them so I think I got sold BS .

what should be written on an etecno? these are blank.
Also I am aware of the controller location of the controller where is the ASD RELAY located ? or did I miss it in the Noob guide?

I also replaced my glow plugs with the etecno 7v plugs 3 months ago and when the weather started getting cold the MIL turned on for P1261 and P1263 and what sucks is that by the end of the Jan I need to get my inspection sticker.

I have noticed that if I delete the codes when the engine is warm it only comes back the next day at startup when every thing is cold.

I got my plugs from IDparts and it came in etecno 7vboxes. I'm not blaming IDparts or pointing fingers what so ever at them, they've been very helpful to the CRD community. Could it be that Etecno produced and bad bash and now there starting to show because of the cold weather?

Mine came loose in bubble wrap from some guy in Italy off ebay so not sure if they're really etecno or not. I just installed 3 86k mile ones leaving the one under throttle body for later when I take all that crap off again and probably go with 5v ones and all new relays re flash and new harness easily 400 and I have 2 jeeps. just blows my mind having to do this 2x
