Hi fellas,
I've read in a few topics that you can pull out DTC codes out of your car just switching On and Off the key. They say to do it three times, ending in the ON position and the odometer should read DONE or show you some codes. This is the procedure. Starting in the Off position, turn the key in the on position (without starting the engine), then back off, then on, then off and then back on; at this point the odometer should should show the codes. I tried it in my 2007 Liberty 2.8 CRD but it didn' have any effect, I even tried to hold the key in and also reset the trip odometer but no joy. Do you guys know why? Does the 2007 have a different method? Thank you and happy new year to all the CRD owners!

I find that you need to do it 4 times rapidly...ending on the 4th time with the ignition ON.
This does have the habit of sometimes transposing the last two digits on the code so be wary of this method of getting codes.

This only worked up to about 2004 I think... not for 2007 I believe! :?

Holding the Odometer Reset button IN while turning ignition ON has nothing to do with getting error codes....this is done to excercise the Cluster....the cluster light will all light up and the gauges move back and forth so you can test the lights and gauges but there are no fault codes. The display ends with something like 1.40 which is the firmware level of the Cluster.
