Hello,

Has anyone had their PART TIME, FULL TIME etc lights get switched? When I am in 2WD the light PART TIME is on my cluster. Then when I switch it to PART TIME with my 4WD lever, the light goes off and it appears as though it should when its in 2WD.......any thoughts or ideas of what the heck happened?? Also, I can hardly ever get it out of 4WD when on the hwy unless I stop and reverse then drive forward again. Whats going on here? It is extremely irritating! Should be shift on the fly!!!

Yes I ran into this issue and the stealer ship charged me 200 bucks for a 55 dollar switch that turned bad and 2 hours of labour @ 125 / hr so in all 500 bucks cured this issue. I will provide more details when I get home right now @ work.thx

There is an switch near the shifter or on the transfer case. I forget which one. It can jump its position relative to the transfer case. I think it can be re adjusted without having to buy anything. I have seen this problem on here before. You might want to check the gasser kj forum.

Its an indicator only, driving it with the indicator out of adjustment will not cause any issue. Just remember which position is full time and which position is part time.

There is a thread around here with instructions on how to fix this yourself.

The switch is a linear potentiometer from what I gathered. As you depress it more it lowers the resistance across the switch, increasing the voltage that passes through it. The BCM reads to output voltage of the switch to determine what position the transfer case is in. The amounts of movement on the switch are extremely tiny(millimeters) and its very likely that if it loosened up a half a turn that it could be throwing the reading off.
