My signature has my mods.....so my problem is when I floor my jeep for any more than 9-10 seconds or sometimes less, check engine light pops on and it goes into what I assume is limp mode. When we scan it, it always says something about "major fuel leak". Can the Hot Tune be draining my rail? If that's the case, what is something I can do to fix that issue? It's extremely annoying especially when I need to put others in their place or when passing cars, or pulling on to on ramps, then lose power, barely holding hwy speeds. It can be really dangerous and I am sick of dealing with it. Ideas/thoughts??? |

Sounds like fuel supply to me. Not surprising that the hot tune (when floored) might help uncover a fuel supply issue. Which filter head are you running with? Have you changed your filter lately, and have you checked for air in the head? Dan P.S. 9-10 seconds at WOT? Are you racing or TRYING to find a fuel problem

Mine used to throw the "Large fuel leak" code all the time, until I put in a lift pump under the hood. I would be blowing the doors off someone pulling a steep grade, only to have to pull over at the top to shut down and restart the engine to get it out of LHM. My favorite were the liberals that would poke around in front of me in their eco cars while I had to wait for a passing lane, then they got the black smoke treatment.

Yes, love smoking out the hybrids! I'm more of a liberal than a conservative but I'm all about power and diesels and four wheeling etc! Why would someone want a lame boring gutless noiseless hybrid than a say a TDI getting close to same mileage and having power and great sounds from the motor! People who are not car people, I tell ya. Blows my mind. Thanks for the information on my issue. Fuel filter has been changed recently and had head work done recently as well. I doubt that's the issue. I could check the filter I suppose. What filter is recommended? And also, the one who said they installed a lift pump. Where can I find one, and what one would you suggest? How hard to install? I'm betting that is what my jeep needs. Another question within this post.....: has anyone re geared their CRD's? If so what gears were used and what was the difference made? Thanks for the info guys. GREATLY appreciated. |

I always love a good highway stop light race up to the speed limit or "slightly" over. And no I'm not an unsafe speeding street racing type of driver. Hwy's only every once in a while! I would like to take my jeep to our local drag strip and find out a real world 1/4 mile time for it. But I can't do it right now as I'd be in limp mode at the 1/8 mile marker LOL. |

Thanks for the info guys. GREATLY appreciated. I got a couple of Facets on Ebay and prefilters as recommended by the pump mfr. There is a fuel pump relay right in the fuse compartment near the battery, just slide your hot conductor into the normally open relay slot, and push the relay back in. I bent a piece of metal stock and screwed it to the battery box. I have seen pumps like these even in the big box retailers like AutoRetardZone.
