| Post subject: | CRD ECU maps & tuning |
Hi all, I have been doing a lot of searching and reading, but did not find much info. I am looking to tune and remap my Liberty CRD ECU for performance and EGR delete. I have the tools to read/write, but finding the right maps is not easy...And then how to adjust/mod them is tricky too... I was hoping someone on here has done it already and can help me out. I know there are a few companies that can do it for me, but I would like to learn how for myself. I would appreciate any help! Thanks, Nick |

in Italy and UK there are some forum to learn ........how to.......but only increase performance and the egr off , i have a powergate S Master for 250 € and i bought a mod from here http://alientechsales.co.uk/ for 120 € and it is useful to start learning but never one know how to modify the glow plug time .......apart GDE |

I can read/write using a KWP2000+, then winols to find the maps. BUT, since I don't know what all the maps do or how they interact, its not easy... |

you can try to find EcmTitanium , it's more usable , winols it's for professional user , in Titanium there are a specific driver who can find maps of your interest |

in EcmTitanium you can find rail pressure injector timing post injection timing egr and fcv maps -it's phase injection acceleration enrichment - it's a maps incrase the response of your gas pedal ...simply requires more torque based on the location of the pedal , influencing on all the parameters turbo pressure overboost time torque limiter torque limiter for each gear shift pressure rail limiter out of map you can find the the turbo limiter , egr---wastegate limiter and other parameter , it's difficul but not impossible, i have study on a Italian forum ,every parameter must to be refined , example , increase the request of torque , you must increase the parameter of diesel and turbo at the same time , same range , same load , and adapt their limiters , logical if you increase the flow of diesel with injection timing and rail pressure , I can not do the same with the turbine , the increment must be make with logic , in the software a 10 point of turbo pressure it's a 0,1 bar if you want i can send you my MAP for study , i send you my original and modificated and you can adapt for you request What year is your kj? or you have a kk? |

in the map add a overboost time , increase of 30 point starting from 1000 rpm up to 2200 and from 38% to 56% load , this help to increase the mpg , yuo can made this in 2D |

ok , I'm wait you're response ,be careful of your original file if not identical , you must copy the increment in you're original file and correct the checksum , normally , the programmer correct this for you , but control this .ori --original .mod -- modified and if you are not sure , send me an email with you're original but i'll prefer if you study the mod and apply what you have learned |

Nick , your file it's slightly different and the egr control is very different , this is the control , but i am not sure how to touch ![]() this is the fcv mod , disable , always open but function in shot down ![]() egr map mod ![]() EGR control is in the middle of the FCV and EGR maps , i'll suggest to buy a file from Alientech at the link i have posted , at least you are sure that you have no errors in the phase egr for the rest you can copy the map or if you want , we can see it together |

I do have a CMD-MPC5xx version 1255 clone that has been sitting on the shelf for about 3 years that is supposed to work but I haven't even tried it! How sad. I just kind of lost interest. But with current glow plug issue, I have a renewed interest. I have the truck for the day on Tuesday, so I will report back then and maybe I can join your cause. |

I can also read/write with a MPPS too. A friend has one and it worked too... |

Squeeto wrote: I have the truck for the day on Tuesday, so I will report back then and maybe I can join your cause. Nope. The Jeep does identify itself but my software reports it as EDC16C/C2 Mercedes. and BOSCH EDC16C/C2-9.9 ... OK For the Read, the Jeep does talk back but my software doesn't like the answer and says failed to connect. I will see if I can get updated software for it. What version of KWP2000+ do you have? Do you have a 2005 or 2006 Jeep? |

can you make an ECU ID ? for a software version ? I use a same programmer that GDE use , but not encripted you can find in the maps the GP duty cycle ? |

Hey Nick, sent you an email. Yeti, Titanium is good but labeling of maps is unusual. I normally just use titanium for defination/ID. I went a different route and deleted Fault codes for the maf. I Unplugged the maf, and deleted the faults present for it. No more egr... This is good, a long time waiting for similar minded people who enjoy tinkering... |

Squeeto, I bought mine on Ebay, its a clone I think but it works. Also the MPPS on ebay works too... Both are from China. My jeep is a 2005... I have a Bosch EDC16C31. I am getting real close with the tune. The hardest part is deleting the EGR and NOT throwing any kind of codes or putting it into limp mode... Its a learning curve for sure. |
