long story short, turbo went bad, didn't destroy engine. I am changing head gasket, rockers, all the usual suspects. I have had an oil leak at the lower front of the engine. after further review, I determined that the leak was actually not the front crank seal, but a failure of the sealant used on the stamped steel cover for the oil and vac pump. Because I would hate to create a leak by removing the cover to fix the root cause, I ordered a new front crank seal. After removing the cover, it appears that there are actually 2 seals. Looking from the front there is a white felt and rubber seal, behind which sits the actual crank seal. Said white felt and rubber seal is not on the parts diagram. Looking for some one who has some experience with this situation. I have not tried to remove seal yet, until I understand exactly what is required.
