Temporary, get a transparent fuel hose and a 3/8 brass connection, install the transparent fuel hose in between the out from fuel filter banjo and the black hose that goes to the pump, and see if you have air bubbles. That at least should confirm if you have air in fuel. Just remember that the cooper washers in theory should be replaced any time you disconnect the banjo, for sealing purposes, but I don't think it is your problem if you didn't disconnect them.
