I haven't been able to find out much info on the injectors themselves.

Normally an easy upgrade on a diesel is to upgrade the injectors especially if you are upgrading the turbo.

Does anyone have any info on them?

How about how much the fuel pump and injectors can support if someone upgrades the turbo?

I'm looking at possibly trying a GTB2260 turbo which is slightly larger than stock which is the GTA2056.

I posted on GDE forum but didn't get any response yet.

Thanks! :JEEPIN:

Check out their website. Www.greendieselengineering.com. You can find out all the specs for each tune along with info on their tcm tune as well.

I'm wondering if adding a lift pump to the CP3A would give her enough fuel for a GTB2260 VNT Turbo?

Found a supplier for them with a vacuum actuator like we have, will take a little adapting onto the engine but that's the fun part.

Try the VW Touareg turbo...think it is the size you want. Find out what injectors (strength) they use and go from there. Modify the flange...ect. ect.

The thing is the GDE turbo upgrade might be the easier and more productive way to go...just don't know.

The 3.0L V6 Diesel is not much bigger than our 2.8L and puts out about the same power/torque and the GDE Upgrade.

Thanks the V6 3.0 TDI turbo is the GTB2260VK

I also found a place that will rebuild my current turbo (it's not bad) but will then modify the compressor wheel from the 56 to 60.

Trying to get a compressor map from them.

Without DPF the vw tdi can get 240hp, so I am thinking along 240-250hp range.

I believe the stock injectors can support a lot. The best way to upgrade a CR injector is to open up the nozzles. I've called Industrial Injection but they don't do their own upgrades. I've been in depth with my GT2560r turbo project, so I haven't gotten any farther with finding someone to extrude hone them.

Almost got all the parts and pieces gathered to adapt a AirDog 100 gph fuel pump. With their 1/2" lines and no air, it should have all the fuel it needs.

Keith at GDE did warn me that the weak link on this engine is the head. It is prone to cracking between the valves. So watch your heat.

On the CRD. Its a non VGT turbo. Had a post on here called "New Turbo Idea Taking Off" Lots of pics. Just got an extra manifold to send off and get coated. A custom CRD to T3 flange and a CRD to T25 flange adapters made. The guy that I worked with to build them is awesome. If you want to contact him let me know to get your turbo mounted up.

YRKCRD,

If I were you, I would proceed VERY cautiously with these upgrades, especially the injectors.

Extrude honing is a nice idea on paper. You really need to deal with a company who does the job right though.

First, your injectors and tips need to be good candidates for upgrades. Extrude honing worn tips, used in worn injectors is really not the best path.

Common rail injectors are very precise fuel measuring devices. In the wrong hands, things can go awry very quickly. And it will be you who is picking up the tab for their mistakes and lack of good work practices.

Best advice is to start with a set of NEW (!) injectors, Bosch P/N 0-445-110-217, and get them massaged by a company that knows how to do things right.

When it comes to extrude honing, the best way to hone is ONE TIP AT A TIME. Batch honing, i.e. honing all tips at once, will give an inconsistent result. Basically, the honing material will find the path of least resistance. Therefore when it, the honing putty, starts to go in one direction more than the other, then one or more tips, but not all tips, will get opened up more than the others. Therefore an inconsistent result.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone thought of comparing the flow rate of our injectors to that of say a cummins, powerstroke or durtynax? Idk if our injectirs are high impedence or if any ithers would match, but its worth a shot.and there has to be a piggyback out there that modifies the signal from the ecu to the boost solenoid.
