They come with a flat, low profile grease fitting the goes in the end of one of the caps rather than a nipple type of fitting. It has a slot to allow you to install it using a flat bladed screwdriver. Trying to grease these using a standard nozzle results in the grease leaking from where the slot is rather than going into the fitting. Anyone know how to do this. Presumably I need a special nozzle? |

Hi dirtmover, You need one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Lumax-LX-1414-Sil ... ase+needle I have the exact one and it works great. Attaches to the standard end on my grease gun and then you just put the pointy end right in the middle of the fitting and push hard and pump the grease. I wipe off the grease fitting to remove the dirt before I try and pump in new grease. My napa U-joints have that same flush fitting you describe. |

Dieseldawg is correct, you should be also able to get the needle pin nozzle from an Autoparts store (got mine from napa) or Sears, if you don't want to wait for delivery. The needle nozzle will attach on the existing grease gun. You can also buy the "regular" grease fitting and replace the needle pin you have in the ujoints, I chose not to since it sticks out too much and it may break on contact with some road debris. |
