I was under the impression that after doing the EHM and getting the GDE eco tune done that there wouldn't be any more sooty, recycled air in the intake. I just took my MAF out the thing was caked solid again.
When I cleaned up the MAF last time (one year ago) I replaced the turbo hoses with Samco's, did the GDE eco tune and cleaned out that intake elbow and have driven now for about 1 year.
I was shocked to see how much soot was plugging the MAF again. Totally blocked. It wasn't oily soot like it was prior to the GDE and EHM, this time it was dry soot.
I was under the impression that the MAF wouldn't get all sooted up again after those mods, but maybe I'm wrong. Could that just be a bunch of residue soot from further in the intake that is being pushed through the system?
Just curious as to what I should expect and maybe I should be cleaning the MAF every 4 months or so.
Cheers,
