Correction: Yes ps pulley must be removed. Not sure if it was because when my dads CRD's tensioner went, it went far south from where it belonged. When replacing (with a new tensioner) remember to leave the locking pin in place until the tensioner and belt are replaced, only then you remove the locking pin holding the tension. Hope this helps.
