I keep reading about JBA UCA's that are 4.5 or 3.5, etc. Is this the generation, or a lift size, or what? How do I tell the difference. A local wrecking yard has a set but aside from the fact that they have replaceable ball joints and came out of a KJ, I don't know how to tell what I'm looking at. Thanks, |

Thanks TJKJ, I actually wrote to Marlin Gehman and asked him. He said much the same and also noted that there is a difference between the JBA UCA for a stock suspension Liberty and the JBA UCA for a lifted Liberty. They rotate the ball joint a little more in one direction for the lifted version. He said if I planned to lift the jeep, I should not get the 'stock' JBA UCA. From the photos on the website, however, I don't see a difference...in fact I think they use the same photo for both products. Turns out the stock replacement JBA UCA's ball mounts are in line with the tubes. The 'lifted' JBA UCA's ball mounts are slightly kinked at the attachment point. Get a photo from the side and it's easy to see the difference! |
