Popped a hose over the weekend. Are the SAMCO hoses really worth 300 bucks? |

In my opinion yes |

Agree, yes they are worth the money. I've had mine on for about 80K miles now an no sign of any problems. The peace of mind knowing they are not likely to have problems is enough for me to justify the cost. You can temporarily fix most bursts in the OEM hoses with a roll of duct tape, but you need to carry more tools and these things tend to happen at the worst times... |

Look also for "Mishimoto" on Amazon, those are another silicone hose option and may be cheaper. Yes, the silicone hoses are worth the money. |

Essentially the same cost as what Boost Controller charges for Samcos and fewer color choices for those who care about color. |

Not sure if samco USA sells the crd hoses, but they have a bunch of sizes for who's interested, and you can just get some pipe and the hose end adapters and make your own. |

Popped over the weekend hour and half away from home on my way to a wedding... Do you know the longevity of these hoses compared to stock? |

Post subject: | Re: SAMCO worth the money? |
Longevity should be infinite compared to Stock, barring any physical damage from rubbing on something. They are impervious to oil contamination and I haven't heard of any of them failing or wearing out. |

geordi's comment reminds me. The OEM's have a witness notch at least on the intercooler end that the Samco's lack. No big deal but you do need to carefully wiggle the Samco's around a bit at both ends to make sure they are routed clear of anything that could rub a hole in them. On the driver side Samco hose I had to fiddle a bit with a vertical grey sensor (part of the AC system as I recall) to get clearance. In my case the "fins" on one side of the sensor were on the hose side which apparently is not always the case and the fins are on the other side on my son's 06. Run the hose clamps down snug, not godzilla, and check them again for tightness after a week or so of driving. |

Oh, one more thing, take some pics before, especially with the driver one, since you can mess up the correct position it gets in pretty easy. Don't ask me how I know ![]() |

I agree with the others on here recommending Samco's, they are the great hoses and well constructed! ![]() |

I like the Mishimotos we installed during the TB job a couple of months ago. They were cheaper than the Samcos and black is just fine with me. My stock hoses looked good however. Must have been the early install of the EHM. |

You might also check to see if HPS makes silicone hoses for your model Jeep. Like Mishimoto products, have their radiator and transmission cooler in my LJ, HPS hoses. |

I still have my stock hoses at 95,000 miles. I am looking at replacing mine soon the right side is looking rough and has been rubbing on the hood even though I tried to adjust it. I'm considering samco |

How much are the alternatives? Last time I looked there wasn't much difference in price so whichever way you decide to jump you're dropping around $300 on a couple of hoses ![]() |

Ebay has the Mishimoto for $252 with free shipping. They have red, blue & black. Omix-Ada hoses can be had for about $90 per pair. They are OEM replacements. That is about 3 sets per a pair of Samco's. They have a 3Yr warranty. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MISHIMOTO-Silic ... 48&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Liberty-05 ... 52&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intercooler-Air ... 87&vxp=mtr |

X2 for the omix-ada. I've had these on my jeep for about a year. They aren't silicone, but they look as good as oem and my oem hoses lasted 100k miles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
