Assuming no "system" problems (bad mechanical fan clutch, bad thermostat, clogs caused by use of incompatible coolant, crud in vanes of that stack, etc - all pretty standard issues regardless of vehicles) the stock cooling system is just fine. I've had no issue nor did my son in summers in Tempe, AZ.
I am running the Hayden, preventative maintenance, with the nylon fan, just because. For a while I did run Kap's fixed fan which was a bit noisy under 45mph in town but not at hwy speeds. With the fixed fan I did notice a perceptible drop in the coolant temp on the dash gauge when I slowed from hwy speed to a stop at a traffic light. Not a lot of drop though and certainly not below normal operating temp. I presume that was due to the fixed fan spinning at idle much faster, hence moving more air, than the clutched fan.
