I had one go bad recently, and replaced it. The new one was slightly different and I hope it lasts longer.
They appear to have a different number stamped on them, and a different type of insulation.

3 months ago I replaced my glow plugs with the entenco 7v, and today my CEL came on, the codes are P0672 and P0674. Could it be just a random code ? |

I put in 4 Etecno plugs from ID Parts in November. The 4th one finally failed last week. I have been replacing them one at a time with my original ceramics to get me through. I called ID Parts this week, and they said that they had gotten a bad batch of Etechno plugs. I will be sending all four of mine back for an exchange with newer batch. |

I bought a set of 4 Etecnos in November 2013. 2 of 4 have failed. 1st was around March and 2nd was in June. ID has been great about exchanging them, but I have zero confidence in this glow plug. That being said, without any other 7v options, I guess I will live with it. |

It seems as though a lot of people have had issues with the Etecnos 7V steel glow plugs. I have read about a number of failures as they keep failing one at a time. They also do not heat as fast or as hot as the ceramic glow plugs which I need in the north. When I am due for my timing belt change I may just change to a new set of ceramic plugs and stay with the stock configuration until they have these steel plug issues worked out. I figure a new set of ceramics will last me about another 100K miles. |

I'm about to install a set of Etecno 5v steel GPs in mine (got them from IDParts). For anybody with hands-on experience with GPs: do you recommend putting anti-seize on them before installation? Thanks, Steve |

When it comes to things I am almost certain to need to undo at some point, I treat never-seize like Frank's Red Hot: "I put that *%### on everything!" I used it on my GPs on all 3 vehicles with no I'll effects.... |

I have a set of 4 that look like the one on the left that have been sitting in the garage waiting for install since last fall. If ID can identify them as part of the bad batch, I'd love to swap them out BEFORE they sit in there for 6 months... Dan |

They're all different metal content for different purposes. Copper is typically used for conductive threaded surfaces. General Anti-seize: A highly refined blend of aluminum, copper and graphite lubricants. Use during assembly to prevent galling, corrosion and seizing due to weathering or chemicals.
