For stock fuel filter head good after market filters include NAPA 3647 or WIX 33647 or MANN WK854/2

There's also Auto Extra 61633674 and Hastings FF1168.

Since the market is very small I suspect they're all rebranded from 1 or 2 sources in China.

The Wix ones I've bought in the past have certainly had MIC printed on them.

I always get mine at NAPA. they always have one in stock too. then every time the guy comments that they don't sell many of them.

I use Mahle fuel filters. I can't recall if they are German or Austrian.

OK, ordered and picked up a NAPA Gold fuel filter for my CRD today as most on here stated it was the best. I was sadly disappointed when I opened the NAPA Gold box and it contained a re-boxed Made in China filter! (stamped on filter in two locations) :shock:
Upon comparing and closer inspection of the NAPA filter to the Mopar filter that I removed, it looked like to me that the NAPA filter was not nearly as of high of quality as the OEM Mopar filter that I removed.
Guess I should have ordered an OEM one off of the Web????

Looking at a filter is not exactly a scientific analysis of performance differences.

I share your skepticism of anything Chinese, but are you sure that the OEM filters on the web are not also of Chinese origin?

I would expect that any true OEM Mopar part no matter where it is purchased would be of the highest quality control product? Am I being somewhat naive? :roll:
It is a shame that we can no longer buy quality made in the USA parts no matter where you purchase them anymore. Seems like everyone is outsourcing all part productions these days.... :2cents:

It's a mixed bag with any automobile manufacturer I think. Take the OEM fan clutch. I don't know where it was made, but it's junk. The OEM alternator on the other hand is Japanese and, I believe, superior to Chinese rebuilds. Many other OEM parts are Japanese, German or Italian. The Japanese and German bearings are the best available. The Italian thermostat sucks.

I have used Mopar brand fuel filters since day one.
The Mopar filters that I have bought, have never been made in USA.
Several of the first ones, said Italy.
I always felt that the quality of a Mopar brand filter would be better, and I liked the factory (untouched look)
I'm pretty sure that the last one that I bought last fall said China, that irritated me.

I'm from Italy , and I bought a 2° gen fuel filter head with filter , down the filter is marked made in CHINA , after that I think this :

made in china
shipped to Italy for European market and stamped Italian and German language
shipped in USA


and shipped to me in Italy

now in Italy at the dealer would cost about 270 dollar , and from USA with shipping and tax I have payed 190 dollar .

after that , I doubt about the quality of the product and the actual real cost of production.

now used for years with satisfaction the MANN filters at half of the cost
