I have changed the MAP Sensor P/N 0281002437 and I have done the elephant hose mod (EHM) but still
our Jeep is cutting out after running for about 1 hour and the Engine Management Light (EML) come on.

I changed the MAP Sensor as the previous problem was that the Engine went into Limp Mode, but now it just cuts out as I am driving.
It is very dangerous as I loose all power and can hardly steer the car!

What else could be causing this problem?

Have you cleared the existing codes to check if your original P0069 code is still happening?

If there are no codes being posted at the moment I would suspect a blocked fuel filter or air in the fuel.
I had the problem that the Jeep would totally cut out while on the open road....I would pull over and re-start and drive a bit further.....no codes posted. Was the fuel filter needed changing.

Code were cleared and EML went out, but came back on when car cut out and has same code (Poo69).

Could it be the MAF Sensor thats faulty?

Based on your phrasing when it "cuts out" I gather the engine completely stops running, correct? If that's the case can it be restarted immediately and if so does it run fine and if so for how long?

When it cuts out have you more or less immediately checked the fuel filter head primer, pushed down on it a couple of times, to see if there is good filter head pressure? How long since you changed the fuel filter?

Is the air filter clean?

Check the electric connection to both sensors on the air filter box as weird things can happen if either is the least bit loose.

Could be your crank position sensor is going nuts when sufficiently hot but if so I would expect the vehicle to not immediately restart after cutting out and a bad crank sensor may not throw a code. Sensor can be pulled and checked with a hair dryer to apply heat and a volt/ohm meter to check for changes in resistance hot vs cold.

Yes the engine stops completely and can be restarted straight away.

Air filter changed around 1k miles ago
Fuel filter 5k miles ago

I am going to drive home from work in 10 mins (50 miles) with the MAF Sensor disconnected to see if that makes any difference.

If it stalls again I will check Fuel primer straight away.

OK Update

Just drove 50miles home and the engine cut out about 5 times (well scary with no power steering) and limped home at no more than 2000rpm!

There was a little air in the fuel as a pumped it then undid the bleed screw until fuel came out.

Its not the MAF Sensor as I disconnected that and it made no difference.

The OBD Code is still showing P0069 which says in my book that it is the Map Sensor, so although I only replaced it in April this year I will put another new one in tomorrow to see if that cures it.

I also done the EHM when I put the new MAP Sensor in so it cant be gunked up!

If you are going to replace the MAP sensor again consider going with BOSCH #0 281 002 845 or GM PN 55206797 which is a bit more robust and a lot cheaper than stock. MrMopa64 has posted that it's good substitute.

There is a small sensor on the side of the airbox. If it goes bad or becomes disconnected, it
will throw a P0069 code and cause drivability problems.

No.
It's not a mass airflow sensor.
The mass airflow sensor is on the tube that the intake hose connects to.
Disconnecting the MAF will give you a code different from P0069.

The sensor I'm talking about is small and screws into the side of the air box lid.
If you pulled that sensor and nothing changed, then that sensor is bad.

P00069 indicates that it is the inlet pressure sensor.

My notes, if correct, say the IAP on the side of the air box is PN 5101120AB

OK I have changed the Map Sensor and the Intake Air Press sensor as suggested and I am still getting the same problem!

The CEL is coming on and I am still getting Code P069!

the hoses are all OK
The air filter is new.

Could it be anything to do with the EHM although it was running fine for 4 months before this code came up last week!

We have now been without a car for a week!
What is happening?

P0069 has nothing to do with the intake air pressure sensor. The IPS fault is P1189.

P0069 is flagged during a check at 'key-on' when the diagnostic runs. It checks the boost pressure sensor reading vs. the ambient pressure reading in the ecm. Maybe the ecm internal pressure sensor is failing.

A new ecm is at least $600 and then needs coded at the dealer, which would entail an additional charge.

With a tune we should be able to open up the diagnostic a bit to mask the code.

Not too far as lancer is running a GDE tune so it can be done.

We ship all over. Many GDE tunes are running in Russia, we could get one dropped out of the plane as it flies over England :D
