Was always going to replace them, just in case of stress fractures etc, plus im a sucker for punishment,

depending how long it takes to get parts in from the States i may have it pulled down to the crank.

Took for a drive last night, smooth enough, a little low on power, smell of diesel, no. one injector leaking a little, will nip up in the weekend.

Thanks for everyones help so far.

I think we should have an address for everyone to send ARP spare bolts to, then maybe an auction for some lucky bugger to get a free set of ARP bolts from the Lost site.

Dare I say it all our non broken rockers, not that I would put second hand ones in

Drives nice enough, seems sluggish off the mark.
Like not boosting, sometimes really flat, not sure how to get the MOJO back

Maybe never if I have it a tooth out

Will check boost hoses soon

Not sure what to tell you without more info. Noises normal? Any smoke? Diesel-y sounds louder than usual, more clattering on acceleration?

I was all set to be flown down there... Could have prevented this. ;) Was $2500 in airfare that much, honestly? :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:

I meant P0340 my phone spells creatively

Car is driving pretty well but is just really flat sometimes off idle like holding the throttle 1/3 down waiting for boost to build.

After bolting on the viscous fan, $2,500 airfair sounds like a bargain

I don't think cambelt is out, every now and then it performs ok.

I'm thinking of swapping fuel filter out as it is due and has been sitting 3 months.

Starting to wonder about fuel rail pressure, the sensor not so much air in the fuel anymore.

I'll pull the cam sensor and give it a wipe, and the cam.

I may still order one from ID as I ended up with a crank sensor.

It was getting around ok tonight it's not in limp mode but my foot was hard up it nearly the whole time.

Revs past 4000 kicks down but sometimes feels like your getting no where.

snapped mine at 60 MPH at 85,000. But, that was in 2011, so it had some age on it. Only four rockers were broken. Had head and valves cked at machine shop and they were ok. replaced head gasket, ARP studs and other misc stuff. Still don t have it back together completly. Puting in the EGR mod and just pulled all the EGR and associated plumbing. Put the timing belt on this weekend. Personnally, I think its easier to pull the engine and put it in the garage. Work on it as time permits, then get some help to stick it back in.

Well its still running

Still very flat of the mark, waste gate turbo not variable vane.

Still running a p1130 code (low fuel rail pressure) no black smoke, no grunt off the mark. Slight miss in top gear low rpm.

Image

Leak down test, not great not bad 1 and 2 similar 4 a bit more 3 a lot less

Now I do think the low fuel pressure in rail is my biggest issue so do I grab a second hand rail with solenoid and pressure valve on it, or purchase the low pressure valve on rear of CP3 pump? I may cut the CAT out this weekend as well no re

Were you running the crank test (pg 14-35 of the 06 FSM available at http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/)? If so looks to me like the 3 high return injectors may not be functioning properly. If I have this right they are returning too much fuel which I would assume means they are not injecting enough fuel hence your low power. If possible I'd suggest pulling one of those injectors (remember to reinstall you will need a new copper crush washer and "O" ring) and have it tested and go from there.

Hi

Did do the crank test, bust also had it running on separate test for about 5 minutes or more to see if any injector was letting pass more diesel than another.

When the cambelt went I had the injectors tested (probabably flow may have to check) and injectors came back good.

Does the fuel rail solenoid open emergency only to relieve pressure or does it constantly maintain pressure? can I unplug the return from fuel rail and test in any way?

or is the fuel pressure regulated more from the sensor on the CP3 pump? can I run it for testing disconnected unplugged ie when cranking and starting I believe this solenoid is not suppose to work to maximise pressure for starting?

Maybe I go back to the beginning change fuel filter again and check for clogged in tank screen diesel bug or something.

The symtoms of the car at the moment are

- starts fine
- no smoke at all start or running
- very slow off the mark, builds boost slow then goes
- once turbo in goes reasonably well
- after boosting come to stop and go again seems to pull off the mark better.

Kind of seems the more it idles the more fuel pressure I leak back? once moving, pumps spinning faster
turbo boosts, off the gas and go again, off the line is good. But once you stop and idle then go again, nothing very sluggish until it gets moving.

Not chasing boost and iarflow anymore, just trying to make sure I have full fuel pressure.

Next week Im getting the fuel pressure tested, will be interesting to see what it comes back as.

Replaced the mprop solenoid back of pump.

Changed the fuel rail and pressure sensor.

Still flat off the mark until boosting non variable vane doesnt help. Still p1130. Error.

Then i pulled the MAP sensor and now i have engine check light on as well with other codes 0135 0235 0110 Or something.

Started and run it for a while. Disconnected batteries. Im hoping check light will just go out eventually

If i can get it off the wife i will get the fuel pressure tested. I may still be out on cambelt timing or other damage from cambelt snapped

Since this is very easy to do and does not involve any $$$, try resetting the computers and see if it helps:

Disconnect the positive battery cable. Leave the negative cable connected.
Ground the positive cable on the negative cable for 30 seconds.
Reconnect the positive cable to the battery.
Turn ignition on but don't start engine.
Turn headlights on.
Turn headlights off.
Turn ignition off.

Now the computer has been reset and if there was any gremlin that prevented proper operation, it should be out. You should reset computers any time you install a new electronic part like sensors.
