Post subject:  CRD Problem at 80-100kms when driving

This is a hard one to explane in text. I have had my CRD for a year now and 6 months ago I noticed a problem while driving. Every now and again while driving between 80 and 100 kms the jeep will give a bucking almost like a bang ( hard to describe) like it looses it fuel for a split second some times two or three times in a row. When it happens I step on the peddle and it will drive out of it. The jeep works great and I get great fuel mileage, and I dont have any problems. Does any one have this problem? Does any one know what causing it?

The EGR is starting to plug up and the intake throttle is choking the engine a bit. This can lead to light load misfire.

Mine does this and I have seen others that have complained about it. Mine acts like a skip or miss fire, only does it while almost coasting, maintaining speed while going down hill. Step on the gas and its gone! Others have cured it with a tuning chip but they are 4 to 6 hundred bucks.

Does your CRD belch out a little smoke when it miss fires? Mine did this until I decided to clean and free up the turbo. Possibly not enough boost
just off idle?
