I cut open 3 oil filters to learn the differences between them. I will attach a picture of the elements later.

All three use rubber anti drain back valves, coil springs and synthetic filter media. I have attached a picture comparing the three below.

Make your own conclusions; there are several above average good filters out there. It is not as obvious as one would think!!
Based on some of the comparisons I have read and studied on the web, I have been using the Purolator One for the past several years.

Purolator is owned by MANN-FILTER, and a Purolatore PureOne is equivalent to the MANN-FILTER branded version.

True. However, I have seen differences in the Purolator and Pure 1 vs. the Mann part number for the same applications. Sometimes, however, there is a Mann filter in a Purolator box. Again, it depends on the application. The Volvo W917 Mann vs. the Purolator/P1 L/PL14670 is just one example. I have no issues with Purolator or Mann products. It is all that I use/sell.
