Driving up the road the other night and I hear a ding. Great. The ABS, ESP BAS and Traction control lights were lit at the same time. no CEL. I tried my code reader and the Torque app but can see no codes. Do I need a better reader for ABS codes? Has any one had this happen before?

Thanks,
Andy

Not all code scanners can read ABS codes.
Most likely a bad wheel speed sensor.
Which one?
Hard to know without a scanner that can read ABS codes.
But you can at least remove each wheel and inspect the wiring from each sensor.
Sometimes the wires will rub against the wheel causing a short. (Happened to me)

Check the connectors to the rear sensors, all 5 that are in my family are 06's and several have had a corroded connector to a rear sensor, or the rear wiring breaks. First get the codes pulled so you know what corner to work at.

Just a data point:
My wires to the rear were fine, but one of the sensors failed coincidentally with a deluge rain while the Jeep was parked on the street. I got in and tried to drive away during the deluge, and had the lights coming on within 30 feet.

Failure was intermittent over the next 2 weeks until I figured out where the problem was.

Replaced both rear sensors and test driving between them being replaced.
First sensor fixed it, replaced other side just in case.

10 minute plug-n-play repair per side.

I also have this problem after going in a ditch and being pulled out through deep mud.
