:furious:

Whelp. Not the sensors... apparently that was some confusion via a game of telephone between this guy and that guy before it got to me.

We are still in diagnostics. A WEEK LATER at the dealer. :dizzy: We are approaching three weeks of mechanics care and we are no farther along than before. Except I guess I owe someone money now.

Disregard my previous post about the three sensors failing at once. I have zero confidence in that statement at this point. That seems to be some weird gobbly gook from the telephone game.

Still sounds like you have a AIR in FUEL problem. Do you have a 2nd generation fuel head? If not replace it regardless.

You may also have a leaking fuel line at the fuel head that is letting in air. Check under the clamps for cuts, do not over tighten the clamps.

I had this issue and installed a clear hose on the discharge side of the pump, so I could check for air.

Good luck.

Have you tried my suggestion of removing the fuel filter head mounting bracket and having a good look at the wires under there to see if any wires are damaged?

The Dealers will never acknowledge that there is a potential problem with the wiring in that area of a 2006 LHD CRD!

The only "diesel approved" starting fluid is WD40. Don't EVER squirt ether into a diesel!

Hey guys-

Well, Airtex pump installed but wiring still needs some work. It is now behaving as if it is losing fuel under no throttle, after pushing it up near 4k- In park, fuel pedal down, rev for a minute, take foot off, dies. Reading P0087 Fuel pressure rail too low.

I was hoping the fix to this now would be easy- lift pump miswired or misplumbed, now pulling fuel instead of lifting. So, I removed pwer to the pump, expecting this to result in no symptoms. Wrong. STILL DIES.

I am about to tow it to another shop and see what fresh eyes can do for it.

Fuel filter head arrived today but thinking i might wait to install at another mechanic.

any advise is appreciated.

summary-
replace sensors on fuel rail
replaced CP3 pump
replaced timing belt- jeep started and ran until on test drive at WOT
Wiring bundles all look fine. No evidence of losing prime at filter head.
installed in tank lift pump (airtex)
used 06 gasser harness- ABS/ EBS lights on, fuel gauge works, jeeps now dies when parked give RPMs up, hold for a few seconds, releases, DIE. P0093 and P0087

7 weeks later!

Sigh.

Wow! Not much I can offer other than sympathy.

I don't think you mentioned how you are reading the codes. I wonder if plugging in to a "real code reader" at a dedicated shop might reveal some more information about other codes that your reader is hiding, or something else that would help you? The shotgun approach is only going to get more expensive, right?

Sorry, amigo.
