Teenage daughter was shutting the front passenger door over the weekend, and with the high heat it must have weakened the plastic because the arm rest pulled right off in her hand.

I went to dealer Monday morning and they say now that it is over 9 years old...they have NONE in stock/warehouse anywhere in the US. I'd prefer to find the same solid tan color, but will trade out both front doors trim panels if I have to and get the tan/slate combination.

Anyone have any ideas on where I can find a replacement? Have checked several of the salvage search sites with no luck thus far (been several days).

I appreciate any help...I plan to keep her for quite a few more years. Can't justify a new purchase when its paid for, in decent shape, and I'm getting 30+mpg highway.

well- no difference on the door panels CRD vs V6 so don't make that a filter.

I've tried Car-part.com with varying success

you might be able to order from one of the online folks

Moparpartsamerica or such.

find the part number and Google it - amazing what you can find.

I'd try some junkyards first, chances are you'll find more donor vehicles than you want. Also eBay is a good source, just look for some jeep parts for sale, and email the seller with your questions, even if he doesn't list the parts you need. Usually, they show a picture with the crashed car they part out, chances are the interiors are still there, even if they may not be complete due to the crash...

My driver's door arm rest came off this weekend too. One screw and cheap plastic. It was probably cracked/damaged by the dealer a couple of years ago when they replaced the cheap plastic part that holds the glass on the regulator.

If I can't find a new one I guess I'll slather it in JB Weld and try to put it back together.

That happened to me 2 years ago. I just put a washer on the screw and put it back on and it has stayed in place for 2 years now.

It seems like one must buy the whole door panel.

I epoxied the broken black pieces under the screw in the arm rest hand grip back together then took off my door panel. Drilled some starter holes through the panel into the rest from the inside of the panel and used 1 1/4" screw fasteners with washers. Seems secure.

And today, I was 'pleasantly surprised' at they ONLY cost 360-475 bucks! (depending on color) :furious:

50-100 bucks at boneyards....
